An opportunity has emerged for an experienced Engine Builder with my client at their high-tech facility in Lichfield.
As the Engine Builder your role will vary day-to-day but will include building rotary gasoline / heavy fuel engine of various size with the associated system such as injection, oil, cooling systems.
Purpose of this role:
You will be responsible for building various rotary engines and associated systems such as cooling, fuel, ignition with the necessary fixtures and tools to achieve the role.
Desired experience:
1. Proven experience as an engine builder within an automotive/racing environment
2. Detailed base engine knowledge and associated systems (injection, cooling, etc.)
Key skills:
3. Must be able to read technical complex drawings and tolerancing
4. Must be able to read and understand BOM (Bill of Material)
5. Must be able to follow written documentation
6. Experience in Hand Assembly of Complex Units
7. Excellent Use of Hand Tools
8. Comfortable with the use of computers & PDM system (product data management system)
9. Experience in the use of measurements tools (hardness check, torque wrenches, thermocouple, pressure sensors, engine timing clock, Vernier, micrometre)
10. Can write technical reports by using standard Microsoft software (excel, word, etc.)
11. General fabrication skills, for example, cutting and machining.
12. Good Problem-Solving ability
13. Must be able to design, build & test out the best assembly processes

16. Excellent communication/team working skills to support verbal and written technical reports.

Travel
Occasional travels to UK and oversea customers.
Education
Mechanical qualification in HND, degree level or proven experiences in a similar role.
Training
Training to be given both on the job and via any required specialised courses.
