Learning Disabilities Support Worker (Nights)
Cygnet Healthcare is looking for Learning Disabilities Support Worker (Nights) to join our team working at Marion House.
You'll be working 42 hours a week (Nights from 07:45 pm till 08:00 am, including alternative weekends), making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Marion House.
Marion House is a specialist 5-bed residential service for adults with autism and moderate to severe learning disabilities, who may have behaviours that challenge. We aim to provide a safe, comfortable and effective environment, promoting independence and community integration. Person-centred planning is at the heart of everything we do, based on each person's specific needs. Marion House is based in Borrowash, which is around a 10-15 minute drive from Derby City Centre with good links via local bus services.
**Must have experience working with Learning Disabilities**
Due to limits on sponsorship allocations, we are not currently in a position to offer sponsorship to new candidates for these roles; this remains under review.

Your role as a Support Worker at Marion House:
* Working from 07:45 pm till 08:00 am
* Working regular shift patterns (Week 1 Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun; Week 2 Weds, Thurs, Fri)
* Key Duties - Promoting the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support
* Supporting with activities and daily living and allowing the individuals we support to remain as independent as possible.
* Supporting with all aspects of personal care in a dignified manner
* Being able to remain calm in challenging situations
* The ability to make a difference to the lives of the individuals we support
* The ability to support residents on trips and activities out in the community
What you will need:
* Previous experience working with adults with Autism and Challenging Behaviour.
* A can-do attitude and the ability to work well within a friendly staff team.
* Knowledge and previous experience of using non-verbal communication techniques such as Makaton would be advantageous; however, training on this will be provided.
Please note successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
