Our client is currently recruiting for a JV Accountant / Analyst. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a 12-month contract and offers hybrid working.
ROLE:
Provide a comprehensive and effective finance service to designated business areas. The Joint Venture Accountant is responsible for financial closing including account posting, payment of billings, variance analysis, and General Ledger reconciliations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. General:
Contribute to an appropriate finance control environment to facilitate financial, management, and operational reporting.
2. Provide support to high-quality budget and business plans which support the business objectives.
3. Timely and high-quality delivery at all times.
4. Work closely with other functions to ensure effective relationships and business delivery.
5. Transactional:
Responsible for transactional data entry to the finance system including but not limited to accruals and information to support cost allocation.
6. Issue monthly JV billings and 3rd party invoices.
7. Review and respond to JV Partner questions received from JV billings.
8. Maintain and update SAP system cost allocations as required.
9. Administer the non-operated JV billings process.
10. Manage workflow and processing of tariff invoices received.
11. Responsible for the integrity of financial statements and controls.
12. Interface with the company accounting policy and Business Advisors to align appropriate cost classification (e.g. Opex vs Capex).
13. Provide ad-hoc cost analysis and support to management presentations where required.
14. Support the Authorisation for Expenditure process, ensuring documented controls are followed.
15. Completion of General Ledger reconciliations.
16. Support JV and Statutory audits including but not limited to responses to auditor requests.
17. Administer Emissions and regulatory (e.g. NSTA) transactional requirements for designated areas.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Degree and part-qualified / qualified accountant of a recognised body (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with appropriate industry experience.
2. Strong analytical skills.
3. Experience of SAP / SunSystems preferred.
4. Strong MS Office skills.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at interacting with individuals at all levels in the organisation.
6. Focus on service delivery to business and functions.
7. Flexible and responsive to stakeholder requirements and changing environment.
8. Ability to deliver high-quality work by deadlines and work effectively under time pressure.
9. Ability to work on own initiative, proactively drive change, take responsibility and manage tasks through to completion.
