Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering HARP Southend in their search for an experienced and motivated Trusts and Foundations Manager. Someone to join their team on a 12-month maternity cover contract and lead on securing funding from charitable Trusts, Foundations, and grant-making bodies to support HARP’s projects and services.

Are you passionate about tackling homelessness and supporting vulnerable people? HARP (Homeless Action Resource Project) is Southend’s leading homeless charity, providing housing, advice, and life-changing support to over 1,000 people each year. HARP believe that everyone deserves a safe place to call home and the opportunity to rebuild their lives. Through emergency accommodation, long-term supported housing, advocacy, and skills training, they help people overcome homelessness for good.
The Trusts and Foundations Manager will have an opportunity to fundraise for some well-established projects and initiatives. You will also be managing a healthy portfolio of existing donors whilst approaching new funders for support.
Some key responsibilities include:
* Research, identify, and apply to Trusts and Foundations to secure funding for HARP’s services and projects.
* Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders, ensuring regular communication and engagement.
* Prepare high-quality funding proposals and grant applications, ensuring alignment with funders’ priorities and meeting application deadlines.
* Proactively identify new funding opportunities by researching potential trust and foundation donors that align with HARP’s mission and objectives.
* Ensure funding agreements are met, including monitoring expenditure, project delivery, and compliance with grant conditions.
* Develop and submit timely and compelling impact reports to funders, demonstrating how their support has made a difference.
1. This role can be considered on a full or a part-time basis and will be hybrid - although the charity only require staff to work one day a week at their offices in Southend.
