DUTIES: - Finance Assist in maintenance of Purchase and Sales Ledger records Assist with invoice entry to Purchase Ledger, including staff expenses Assist with setting up of payments and entering them on to Purchase Ledger Daily processing of bank transactions and assist with performing weekly bank reconciliations Assist in preparation and distributing Company Sales invoicing Credit Card entries and reconciliations Liaise with other Departments as applicable Ad-hoc projects Payroll Assist with processing of Guarding Payroll Assist with resolving payroll enquiries from employees, Government Agencies and HR Department Posting all payslips on intranet portal Assist with payroll-monthly reconciliations assistance Assist with HMRC reporting / Compliance re staff/Payroll Assist with pension reporting Building strong working relations with all departments Administration Assist in the maintenance of financial filing system Assist in correspondence with various agencies, employees, customers and suppliers as required Ad-hoc admin/projects: maintain contract and invoice database, maintain monthly timetable, taking action points from weekly meetings, assisting in developing Finance best practice Carrying out in a professional and diligent manner all other duties properly assignable to the position of Finance Assistant PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications / Experience: - Ideally a graduate however would consider A level educated applicant with right personal attributes, accounting qualification, AAT or equivalent, would be desirable Previous accounts experience Accounting package Sage 50 knowledge would be a plus Previous payroll experience preferable but not essential Aptitudes and attitudes: - Post holder must be able to demonstrate: Good literacy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written English Possess a good telephone manner. Be computer literate Personal attributes: - Reliability, self-motivation and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision The ability, tact and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels.
