Key Responsibilities:
* Provide remote, telephone, and onsite support for Unilink’s product suite, ensuring seamless service to external (and occasional internal) customers.
* Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software for clients, ensuring optimal performance.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues, troubleshooting systems efficiently to minimize downtime.
* Perform system administration tasks, including backups, updates, and security patches.
* Support hardware upgrades and replacements, ensuring smooth integration with existing infrastructure.
* Conduct customer demonstrations and training, showcasing Unilink’s products and features.
* Provide out-of-hours support on a rotating schedule to maintain service availability.
* Develop and improve quality and security procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and ISO27001 standards.
* Maintain and support local infrastructure and services, ensuring operational efficiency.
* Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance service delivery.
* Collaborate with internal teams, ensuring effective communication and knowledge sharing.
* Promote Unilink’s products and services positively, acting as a brand ambassador.
* Assist with business development, providing technical input for proposals and bids.
* Mentor and support team members, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer.
* Manage stock and spare parts inventory, ensuring availability and efficient resource utilization.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* 3+ years of experience in field service engineering or a similar technical role.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft client and server operating systems.
* Experience with networking, structured cabling, and routing.
* Proficiency in backup and recovery solutions.
* Understanding of security protection, patching, and system administration.
* Familiarity with SQL databases and database management systems.
* Experience in installing and maintaining bespoke applications.
* Knowledge of Unilink’s bespoke development suite (preferred but not required).
* Awareness of public sector operations (police, probation, prisons) and Unilink’s role within them.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a responsible approach to tasks.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in critical situations.
* Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills.
* Information security awareness and adherence to protocols.
* Passion for continuous learning and staying up to date with technological advancements.
