HVAC Systems Engineer
The role of HVAC Systems Engineer for Aerius Marine UK sits at the core of our business. From supporting the preparation of tender responses through; development of new HVAC systems, production of design documentation, technical support to commissioning teams and through life design change and upgrades, the role offers a unique opportunity to experience the full product lifecycle.
Primary responsibilities:
1. Development of the clients’ requirements into viable system designs including the production of: Engineering drawingsSystem GroupingHeat load CalculationsOutput calculationsCooling duty calculations (using psychometric charts)Heating calculationsHumidification calculationsAir filtration (including Chemical Biological Nuclear and Radiological)Protected air citadel calculationsDuct sizing calculationsSystem simulationPressure drop calculationsNoise calculationsCost estimates
2. Developing and managing the control philosophy for HVAC systems
3. Equipment specification and selection
4. Managing the HVAC systems interface with other ship systems, for example: Platform Management SystemLow Voltage Electrical Distribution System
5. Liaising with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, including: Technical support to both internal and external client/ supplier design reviewsIntegration, validation and safety reviewsSupplier and subcontractor design deliverable reviews including factory acceptance trials
6. Maintaining design intent throughout the project lifecycle
Required skills and qualifications:
Essential
7. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (HNC plus vocational experience will be considered)
8. Chartered Engineer or working towards
9. Proven design experience with Marine HVAC Systems
10. Experience with Defence Standards and Classification Societies rules
11. Proven client interface capability
12. Proven supplier management capability
13. Ability to lead engineering teams
Desirable
14. Proficient in 2D AutoCAD
15. Familiarity with system shock requirements
16. Proficient with Microsoft office software
