What you’ll do
As the Cyber Security Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small number of complex technical and strategic projects that contribute to the Cyber Security Strategic direction of the department.
You will have complete end-to-end delivery responsibility from inception, scoping, and building case preparation through design, build, and test before overseeing deployment and handover to operations. All projects are delivered through a formal governance process following a Vodafone Project Delivery Lifecycle. Projects will vary in complexity and will require a good understanding of internal infrastructure and delivery processes. Ideally, you will have experience of delivering Cyber Security controls and platforms including Firewall & Proxy Management, Access Management, Logging and Monitoring, IPS, WAF, Vulnerability Scanning, Patching, etc. You will need to engage with suppliers and drive delivery efficiencies where appropriate. You will need to provide management oversight on every project from an end-to-end perspective, including the achievement of all delivery milestones and to ensure the projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets.
With the wider Technology function having adopted SAFe / Scaled Agile Framework methodology, the UK Cyber Security team have recently transitioned to agile ways of working and are maturing their approach and processes. It will be ideal to have an understanding and experience of agile delivery involving Program increments (PI), Agile Release Trains, and Sprints.
Main responsibilities:
* Initiating and helping to shape medium/small work streams and projects, engaging with all stakeholders at the appropriate level
* Ensuring the delivery of agreed project deliverables to plan and within budget
* All core Project Management activities including project planning, risk management, change management, financial governance, stakeholder and supplier management
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all team members, line managers, and colleagues across Cyber Security.
* Engaging with and managing appropriately all 3rd party suppliers and contractors.
* Contribute to dashboard reporting and status updates in relation to Project Delivery milestones and agreed KPI’s and KRI’s.
* Raise Risks & Issues for the Programme / Portfolio / Projects as appropriate.
* Understand the impact of de-scoped / deferred project deliverables and factor into the Cyber Security Strategy or Risk Register

* Proven experience of delivering major technology projects and programmes with budgets in excess of £1m
* Able to operate with a high degree of autonomy, flexibility and self-organisation
* Have the ability to resolve conflict and manage challenging situations
* The ability to be an effective team player
* Prince 2
* Experience in the technology, security or telecommunications industry
* Ability to direct and lead teams across multi-functional boundaries
* Financial planning and budget management
