In this role, you'll take the lead in embedding and implementing the P&O/People Plan tailored to the needs of the Rolling Stock (RS) business. You'll collaborate with expert teams and work closely with the General Manager of the Goole Train Manufacturing Facility to develop and implement key initiatives, including a reward framework for the factory and managing the resourcing plan in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team. Whilst aligned to support Goole, you will be part of the wider P&O function and could be part of other programs. You'll make an impact by Ensuring robust project planning for P&O activities and strategic initiatives, adhering to defined timelines. Acting as a change agent, preparing leaders and employees for changes to structures, responsibilities, processes, and tools in alignment with our Mobility People Strategy. Supporting management in driving agreed change initiatives, promoting new ways of working and leadership in a digital world. Driving continuous improvement by benchmarking and optimising our function. Supporting business continuity and ensuring essential objectives are met, both operationally and strategically. Contributing to the People Plan and successfully delivering key projects. Building strong, collaborative relationships within the "One SMO P&O" framework across the P&O organisation. Your success will be grounded by: A university degree in a business or economics-related field with a focus on P&O, or a CIPD qualification. Proven project or programme management experience, with a track record of delivering on commitments. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, enabling you to identify and resolve complex issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, at an intermediate or advanced level. Broad generalist P&O knowledge, including concepts, systems, tools, and processes. Experience managing mid-size, complex projects, P&O transformations, or cross-functional P&O initiatives. Previous experience with industrial relations and working collaboratively with Trade Unions. Fluency in written and spoken English. You'll excel in this role if you: Demonstrate exceptional communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and manage expectations. Bring strong leadership qualities, including resource management, driving results, and confidently assuming leadership roles in unfamiliar or ambiguous situations. Show creativity and the ability to challenge the status quo by proposing innovative ideas. Have experience in recognising, addressing, and driving change while understanding its cultural impact. Have worked in a customer-focused project delivery role. Are flexible and willing to travel as required.
