Quality Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Quality Team with day-to-day activities.
2. Review production complaints with the process team, organizing containment activities. Support Warehouse team and inspect incoming goods with quality issues.
3. Manage defective parts, quarantine & return/replacement of defective stock.
4. Monitor critical features on new products/components/new suppliers to ensure quality requirements are met.
5. Conduct 8D problem solving to address quality issues.
6. Use KPI data to investigate process issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
7. Address quality ‘walk-in’ issues (stores/production/customer).
8. Support purchasing with supplier quality issues.
9. Conduct internal audits - ISO9001; 14001; 45001 support.
Requirements:
1. Quality System Knowledge along with Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
2. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings; inspect dimensionally using vernier/CMM.
3. Technical qualification HNC/ONC/Degree or on-the-job training in a Quality Position.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Support process team with quality issues, initiating and controlling containment actions. Support temporary/permanent corrective actions to address quality issues.
2. Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams during product introduction to ensure critical features are identified and monitored. Create and maintain PPAP & DFMEA & PFMEA.
3. Utilize hands-on metrology skills to verify mechanical components against drawings, using vernier or CMM.
4. Review process rejects to establish trends and improvement actions.
5. Inspect components when required, including new components, new suppliers, and quality concerns.
6. Quarantine and manage NOK components/products, working with suppliers to correct issues and manage replacements.
7. Assist the Quality team in collecting KPI data from process owners to monitor performance and ensure dissemination throughout the company.
8. Escalate unresolved issues to the Quality Manager.
9. Maintain quality documentation in accordance with ISO9001 standards.
10. Support in resolving customer quality issues and assist the purchasing team with supplier improvement. Participate in the ICAR process, collaborating with the process owner to reach satisfactory conclusions.
11. Work with the warranty team to identify top issues and review with the process team. Conduct product audits against key features.
