Assistant Contract Manager - OTFE Southern Counties/Cambridge

JOB PURPOSE :
To ensure the efficient management of sub-contract timber frame erection squads, ensuring they perform to the highest possible standards, on time and in line with predetermined costs. Actively encourage safe working practices on site and identify potential areas of improvement.
Oregon Contract Management is responsible for ensuring on-site construction of quality products, safely and within timescales and budgets. They work closely with the Commercial and Production Departments to ensure customer satisfaction and ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and legislation.
To undertake any other duties and responsibilities that are within the scope and job purpose as requested by your Line Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Comply with Company policies and procedures.
* Assist Contract Manager with coordinating on-site erection squads to ensure an efficient method of build to the required programme agreed by each Site Manager.
* Help coordinate with Site Manager to ensure targets are achieved and work is of high quality.
* Ensure craneage requirements are coordinated timely.
* Utilise Company information systems and databases effectively.
* Comply with the Company’s H&S policy and complete relevant documentation regularly (method statements/risk assessments/lifting plans, etc.).
* Liaise with various departments to ensure the highest possible customer care performance/satisfaction and complete all relevant inspection documentation.
* Monitor product quality in line with quality procedures and assist in the continuous improvement of our product and service.
* Communicate up-to-date activities on site and document any changes to programmes.
* Ensure prompt collection and sign-off of customer conformity sheets in line with finance department requirements.
* Timely sign-off of structural frames and forwarding of paperwork to the relevant department.
* Demonstrate personal drive with the ability to achieve.
* Train, mentor, and monitor junior members of the contract management team as required.

KEY PERSONNEL SKILLS :
* Basic understanding of computer usage in Word and Excel.
* Good knowledge and hands-on experience of modern methods of construction in timber frame.
* Organisational and interpersonal skills.
* Personal drive with a “can do” attitude.
* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
* Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
* Commercial awareness and focus on total customer satisfaction.
DESIRABLE SKILLS (training can be provided if required)
* Strong working knowledge of joinery and timber frame erect sequences.
* Experience in supervising and managing people.
* Sound appreciation of Health & Safety practices on site.
* Experience of working with cranes to erect timber frame kits.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum of 5 years Joinery experience.
* Crane Operations Certified to either Lift Supervisor and/or Appointed Person level.
* SSSTS.
* Valid CSCS card – professional level.
* Current driving licence and access to a personal car for work-related usage (must be insured for business use).
