Our client, a manufacturing business in Leeds, seeks to appoint a Workshop Engineer with competent electrical skills to their Service team. This is a workshop-based position without travel. The appointed Workshop Engineer will be working on a wide range of components and assemblies, stripping and inspecting products returned to site for repair, completing reports on faults, selecting parts for rebuild, and then re-assembling and testing products ready to be shipped back to the customer. You will need to be able to use measuring equipment and be computer literate. In return, you will receive an excellent salary plus bonus and benefits for a days-based role (08:00 to 16:30) in a positive atmosphere working for a well-established business with excellent prospects. Full product training will be given as well as any additional training to enable you to do the job fully.
Mechanical Fitter - Role and Responsibilities - Workshop Engineer / Mechanical Technician
1. Stripping and inspection of equipment returned for repair
2. Measuring components using Verniers, Micrometers etc.
3. Report writing on faults and analysing for root cause of failure
4. Rebuilding of stripped products, post build testing and associated paperwork
5. Responsible for the general cleanliness and care of personal workbench area and that of the main workshop
Mechanical Fitter - Skills and Abilities - Workshop Engineer / Mechanical Technician
1. Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
2. Prior experience of working on complex sub-assemblies
3. Ability to use Lathe and Miller is an advantage (can train)
4. Able to carry out testing and fault finding
