About the role The Department of Economics at the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow. Applications are welcome from outstanding candidates with research interests in applied economics. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the highly policy-relevant area of environment and health. You will be part of a consortium grant entitled “Tackling the root causes of upstream of unhealthy urban development” that investigates the effects of urban development on health and wellbeing in the United Kingdom. This position is based in the Department of Economics at the University of Bath. You will be line-managed by Prof Eleonora Fichera and Dr. Alistair Hunt. You will collaborate with a large multi-disciplinary team at the University of Bristol and University of Manchester and liaise with policymakers. This role is offered on a full time (36.5. hours per week) fixed term basis with an expected end date of 31/08/2025. About you You will have an Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent) in economics, a Master’s Degree in Economics or Health Economics, and a PhD in Economics or related quantitative subject. You will also need to demonstrate detailed understanding of micro-econometric techniques. Experience of analysing large administrative data and contributing to publications are also required. About the Department The Department of Economics promotes a vibrant research environment through specialist research themes and our five dynamic research groups: Macroeconomics and Finance, Econometrics, Economic Theory, Public and Environmental Economics, and Labour/Education/Health Economics.
