An opportunity has arisen for a Diabetes Specialist Nurse based at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do :
As a Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse you will have a genuine interest in caring for patients with diabetes, providing support, education and training about childhood diabetes to children, young people, their families, carers, and others involved in the care of the child within Ayrshire and Arran.
The diabetes team care for approx. 240 children and young people with a diagnosis of diabetes.
You will work as part of the multidisciplinary diabetes service to deliver high quality nursing management for children and young people with diabetes within Ayrshire & Arran with specific responsibility for a defined caseload of children and young people with diabetes within the primary and secondary care settings in Ayrshire and Arran. You will be responsible for assessing care needs, developing programmes of care, implementing and evaluating them in partnership with the patients, families and wider team, both at diagnosis and on an ongoing basis, Some of our vacancies are for internal candidates only. You will be a First Level Registered Children's Nurse RSCN / RN Child with current knowledge and practice in children's diabetes nursing.
Evidence of ongoing professional development, first degree or equivalent experience
Completion of a recognised post registration Diabetes module., Please note, for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK / EU / EEA licence.
