Senior MRO Planner Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Senior MRO Planner to join our team responsible for creating and maintaining a valid Production Plan for material and capacities by effectively balancing supply and demand for repairs. This role will be based at our Cheltenham site. Role Summary: You will make complex decisions on business issues considering customer service, quality, manufacturing and operational requirements. This role will also encompass critical site moves for repairs, leading and managing the WIP, stock and TAT times while transitioning the repairs from one site to another. To be successful you will need to be a dynamic self-starter that is more than capable of both leading processes, deadlines and people. Key Responsibilities: Develop a working knowledge of the company's products and processes to ensure optimal Plan stability, spares forecasting and MRO provisioning Developing material provisioning plan to ensure material is ordered “within lead time” to protect TAT. Create, manage, and Maintain production plans on demand requirements from actual Repair Orders, and Forecast. Using this to create monthly Production Schedules based on short term capacity information Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand capacity constraints, material availabilities, reduce leadtimes, and exceed customer expectations Ensure good work relationships between key stakeholders to identify, action, and resolve key performance identifiers. Organise, lead and control the movement of WIP and products between sites when we relocate from one site to another. Manage the control of the repair orders through the current ERP system and ensure seamless integration where possible. Be integral to the set up and maintenance of the new ERP system to incorporate our current processes or create new to fit. Able to project manage between 2 physical locations and segregate where transitions are happening to avoid disruption to business as usual. Assist in maintaining planned scheduling parameters such as lead time, lot size, safety stock, delivery times, turnaround times and customer required dates Resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability Monitor orders against forecast; calculate forecast error and communicate to internal stakeholders to drive review and correction to demand Provide feedback to the wider business regarding best customer delivery dates and shortages Create reports on labour utilisation and provide capacity plans as necessary for resource requirements. Create, understand, and make recommendations regarding customer TAT times Continually look for ways to improve processes within Planning; provide recommendations for process improvement across department that support operational goals for customer service, quality, reduction in cost and innovation Task allocation and delegation of responsibilities as appropriate. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience with planning production in a diverse manufacturing environment MRO (Maintenance repair and overall) experience preferable Experience with automated master production scheduling, capacity management and shop floor applications. (Visual ERP experience desirable) Proactive and flexible individual with a keen desire to work towards both company and personal objectives. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Capable of being a self-starter with a minimal amount of direct supervision Must be proficient in MRP, Master Production Scheduling systems, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word Possess a thorough understanding of forecasting and master production scheduling principals in both make-to-stock and make-to-order environments Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise a varied workload to achieve results. Identifies problems and takes appropriate action based on evaluation of all possible options Initiates supports or responds to change by continually striving to improve processes or performance consistent with the needs of the business Works effectively with others throughout the Company towards the attainment of Company goals Considers the financial and commercial implications when taking action/making decisions Responds positively to changing situations/priorities to achieve Company objectives.
