Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Record to Report Accountant to join their dynamic team in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive general accounting and period closing activities, providing updates on financial performance and additional insight as required. Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the management and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions.
* Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
* Manage and execute intercompany reconciliation processes, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected in the financial records.
* Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
* Identify opportunities for enhancing processes or automating tasks within record-to-report process.
* Provide line management oversight for Assistant Accountants, delegating tasks and reviewing their work.
Minimum Requirements:
* Part or fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/etc.) with experience in an operational finance role.
* Knowledge of current regulations including IFRS / UK GAAP, Companies Acts etc.
* Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures.
* Strong organisation and time management skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with presentation experience.
* Ability to operate in a service-driven culture, continuously challenging and seeking to be better.
* Proficient in MS Office applications (particularly MS Excel).
* In-depth knowledge of ERP software (ORACLE would be preference, SAP experience acceptable).
