Role: National AV Engineer

Location: Manchester, with national travel
The AV Engineer's prime function is to provide AV technical support across all meeting rooms, event spaces, and auditoriums on our client's campus. Additionally, the AV Engineer will be responsible for managing all licence/software agreements, acting as the SME on all event space technology, and handling Meeting Technology Requests (MTRs).
This position involves a high degree of visibility, working directly with executive management and regional contacts. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently for periods of time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All services should be delivered punctually at scheduled times and in accordance with agreed SLAs. The AV Engineer is expected to deliver a high level of customer service and provide proactive and reactive support efficiently. The AV Engineer will perform L3 incident management and escalate where appropriate.
The AV Engineer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide AV and technical support across all meeting rooms/Events spaces/Auditoriums in the UK offices.
2. Perform L3 incident management.
3. Attend regional site visits as part of PMV Engineer checks to regional offices (overnight stay and travel required).
4. Raise incidents in Service Now and update incidents to the AV Manager.
5. Demonstrate Self Service AV and VC Capabilities to end users wherever possible.
6. Carry out proactive health checks in accordance with SOP.
7. Service continuity support including preparation for and restoration of service from Power Downs, Black Building Exercises and other planned or unplanned Business Continuity Management activities.
8. Assist with software/firmware upgrades.
9. Assist with support for video/audio conferencing problems. Investigate faults and recommend further actions to rectify.
10. Ensure all multi-media / presentation rooms are maintained in good working order.
11. Assist with support for multi-media broadcasting/hybrid events.
12. Quick response to emergency/ad-hoc requests.
13. Assist, where possible, with IT related enquiries during support. Escalate issues if required.
14. Manage all software licenses approved by client across MOS team including supplier liaison, renewal management, market comparison and proposals.
15. SME on MTR’s across all UK campuses.
General Duties
1. Advise clients on best practice.
2. Provide regular feedback on communication issues and service improvements.
3. Assist with training of new starters and freelancers.
4. Build and maintain client relationships.
5. Be flexible and assist the team in all areas of the department.
6. Manual handling tasks will be required when necessary for moving equipment.
Skill set requirements
1. A good technical understanding of video conference standards and protocols.
2. A working knowledge of networks.
3. Two years industry experience in fields relating to AV and VC activity.
4. Experience of client facing responsibilities in a corporate environment.
5. InfoComm Essentials of AV technology.
6. CTS.
7. High level of customer service.
