A new opportunity has arisen in our Healthand Safety team for an experienced SHEQ Manager to join us coveringthe South West and South Wales. This is a management positionwithin the Group SHEQ Team with responsibility for supportingeffective SHEQ delivery within the region. The purpose of the roleis toactively apply and promote the relevant health safetyenvironment and quality policies and standards across theoperational region and includes. Furthermore the Regional SHEQManager will build and maintain firm relationships through directline reports with key stakeholders including Regulatory AuthoritiesCustomers Industry Bodies Designers Contractor Management Teams andSite Operational Teams.
Duties andResponsibilities
To provideSHEQguidance / assistance to the Operational Regional ManagementTeams.
Provide SHEQ support for the development ofRegional annual SHEQ Plans.
Support for Regional bidteams Bid and tender SHEQ responses and support for strategicopportunities.
Ensure support is provided within the setup and mobilisation of regional new contracts depots andacquisitions.
Ensuring assistance is provided in thedevelopment of risk assessments method statements and SHEQ plans toinclude CDM Construction Phase Plans.
Play a lead role inthe development and implementation of effective SHEQ ManagementSystems aligned to OCU Policy / SHEQ legislation for the broaderbusiness.
Be visible and known to the Regional Managementteam supported.
Conduct suitable and effective SHEQCompliance monitoring activities (audit/engagements) in region andtrack the completion of all corrective action.
Lead SHEQCompliance monitoring activities for the Regional Managementsupported.
Monitor and track SHEQ compliance information(lead and lagging indicators) at regional level for trendsetc.
Development and publication of SHEQcommunications.
Ensure involvement is provided in workerconsultation through attendance at Management worker and customerforums / engagements.
Provide regular update reports onteam / individual activities BU performance and improvement actionsinitiatives and plans.
Lead the external accreditationand client audits.
Provide support for accident / incidentinvestigations in relation to incidents.
Ensuring thataccident / incident reports investigations are effectively closedout with appropriate corrective actions and recommendations fullyimplemented.
Liaise with management and externalorganisations in relation to the notification of accidents /incidents and dangerous occurrences.
Keep legislation /guidance and OCU policy under review for potential SHEQ ManagementSystem Update anddevelopment.
Skills andExperience
Previousexperience in the application of SHEQ management principles andbest practice within an Utilities services / constructionoperational arena.
NEBOSH Diploma / ConstructionCertificate or equivalent and preferably Chartered Member of IOSH(or actively working towards) as minimum.
Commensurate /complementary level qualification in Environmental or Qualitydisciplines desirable.
Experience of Microsoft Officesoftware (word excel etc.) and ability to interact with companysystems.
Good communication skills both written andoral.
Professional approach selforganised and motivated toinfluence stake holders.
Interpersonal buildsrelationships internal / external.
Ability to develop andimplement effective SHEQ Management Process and Systems
People management skills experience and ability inproviding a SHEQ supportservice
