Our client is a high growth entrepreneurial PE backed commercial services business and category leader in its field. The company is the leading end to end sales, installation and service provider for its specialist market and is looking to expand significantly in the UK through both existing channels and customer base, and new sectors including the institutional market of education, workplace and healthcare. Following investment into the business by a lower midmarket PE fund and as the business continues to expand and develop, the position of Chief Commercial Officer has been created to augment the Board and capitalise on the opportunities in the marketplace.
The CCO is the key commercial leader within the business, responsible for the delivery, formulation and execution of the Sales & Marketing elements of both the Strategic Plan and the annual Business Plan in a growth-focused, services environment. This role requires an outcomes-orientated individual that has the drive and ambition to deliver at senior level and develop a team with pace, influence and flexibility.
The role is pivotal in the development and execution of the Group’s strategic plan and exists to deliver the commercial plan of growing the business through best-in-class channel and category management. This is driven by maximising revenue from existing channels and expanding into new sectors and channels, whilst developing robust processes, KPIs and planning to ensure growth is sustainable and meets margin targets.
Aspirations to lead the business in the future as a potential successor to the CEO would be a welcomed.
Relevant Experience:
* Recent experience working in a Board level role within Sales & Marketing in FMCG, retail, or B2B Services with evidence of a successful track record in delivering sales and building brand.
* Must have worked as the number one commercial Director in a £30m to £150m turnover standalone business not divisional corporate operator.
* Ideally worked with public procurement frameworks.
* Well-networked within the field of expertise and/or the drive to cultivate such relationships.
* Ability to quickly understand and assimilate the industry sector including trends, key players and sales channels.
* Proven track record of effectively managing internal teams and ideally external resources.
* Able to demonstrate successful control of departmental budgets.
* Confident and experienced in producing and using cost and pricing models.
* Established strong Key Account relationships and metrics.

This is a Board appointment with the commensurate salary and package associated with such a position. There will also be the opportunity to participate in the equity scheme which has the potential to deliver a seven figure sum within the next 3-4 years. This is a relative small but high growth business, it needs both a strategic and hands on individual who leads from the front and enjoys coaching and mentoring a growing team. Wealth creation will be an important driver for this individual.
