Booth’s Logistics, a leader in New Zealand’s logistics industry, is offering an entry-level Transport Cadetship Program designed to provide hands-on experience and build foundational skills for a successful career in our business.
This 12–18 month cadetship will give you exposure to key areas of our transport operations, including dispatching, freight handling, customer service, and compliance. By the end of the programme, you’ll have a solid pathway to a fulfilling career in transport and logistics with opportunities to grow within Booth’s Logistics.
About the Role
As a Transport Cadet, you will:
* Learn how to plan and dispatch trucks, optimize routes, and manage freight movements.
* Get hands-on experience in freight handling, measurement, and valuation in the cross-dock environment.
* Build essential customer service skills, including managing inquiries and resolving operational issues.
* Develop an understanding of compliance regulations, safety protocols, and transport laws.
* Use industry-leading tools like Transport Management Systems (TMS) and CRM software.
* Gain knowledge in costing, rating, and improving truck utilization to support business efficiency.
* Work on real-world projects to apply your learning and contribute to team success.
This is a full-time, entry-level role that combines structured training, on-the-job learning, and mentorship to support your professional development.
What We’re Looking For

Requirements:
* Recent high school graduate (no prior experience required).
* Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
* Restricted or Full NZ Driver’s License preferred (but not mandatory).
* Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
