Job Title: Quantity Surveyor.
Location: Isleworth, Teddington, Richmond, London
We are looking for a highly motivated Construction Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a results-oriented professional to play a key role in all aspects of project cost management, from pre-construction to completion. As the sole Quantity Surveyor on the team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire cost control process for both large-scale and smaller projects.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Quantity Surveyor at IMKO located in Teddington, allowing for some work from home. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost control, BOQ preparation, cost management, planning, and reporting in construction projects.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough cost analysis for construction projects and provide accurate estimates.
* Manage sub-contract and material procurement, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to quality standards.
* Collaborate closely with project teams to monitor project progress, proactively identifying and resolving cost-related issues.
* Prepare and present valuations of variations and claims to clients.
* Handle applications for payments for all projects under your purview.
* Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with contractual specifications.
* Maintain meticulous project records and documentation for all assigned projects.
* Stay abreast of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in cost management.
* Manage the commercial aspects of subcontractor accounts, from initial engagement to final account negotiation and agreement.
* Prepare tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
* Generate monthly cost-value reconciliation reports.
* Work collaboratively with Site Managers to develop and update monthly cost forecasts.
* Conduct cost and risk management analyses.
* Support Project Managers and Planners in evaluating the time and cost impacts of changes or delays.
* Maintain a proactive approach to environmental considerations and customer care for all project stakeholders.
* Utilize strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills to command professional respect at all levels.
* Provide comprehensive commercial and contractual support and advice to site management teams.
* Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and prepare claims and variations.
* Understand the site critical path and extension of time process claims process.
* Continuously seek opportunities to create site efficiencies and maximize value engineering.
