Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health and Policing Team (MHPT) within the Safeguarding command to join us as an A4 Mental Health Coordinator.
The MHPT is a small team that has a number of key areas of responsibility in support of the constabulary's strategic response to incidents in the community where mental health crisis is the central factor. We act as the conduit between mental health services and police, monitor and evaluate core data relating to mental health incidents to identify trends and patterns, coordinate the work between partner agencies and police, and hold the portfolio for partnership work around suicide prevention and suicide-related bereavement support. In addition, we deliver bespoke training across the constabulary on topics linked to the work above.
The work the team undertakes is demanding and requires the development of specialist knowledge and expertise but offers the ability to work in a field of policing that is incredibly rewarding and where you are making a positive difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of society.
Applications are being sought from internal and external applicants for an A4 Mental Health Coordinator.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the necessary attributes to satisfy the entry requirements for this role. Please refer to the attached role profile below for guidance.
You will also need to provide details around your suitability for the role, including skill set and experience, as well as what you will bring to the role as a Mental Health Coordinator.
Please note there is a maximum of 500 words per each of the 3 areas below:
* We analyse critically
* We are collaborative
* Entry requirements and key responsibilities.
Following the paper application for this role, a competency-based interview will take place, where you will be given an opportunity to discuss your previous experience of suitability for the role and what you will look to bring to the role as the new Mental Health Coordinator.
If you would like to discuss any of the above points in more detail, please contact DCI 2098 Michael Macbeth or DI 230 Scott Carter who can provide further information.
