We are seeking an experienced Accounting / Finance Assistant to join an accountancy practice to work for one of their key overseas clients. This role would suit someone with 2–3 years industry experience with good understanding and experience of double entry bookkeeping, confident completing credit control duties, reconciliations and assisting with month end duties.
* £27,000 - £30,000
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

* Working hours Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm / 9am – 5.30pm (1 hour for lunch)
* Office-based role that could possibly offer hybrid working after the probationary period of 3 months

Duties and responsibilities:
* Processing of supplier invoices and matching to PO’s
* Chasing outstanding invoices and maintain accurate records of all invoices and payments statuses
* Processing of staff expenses
* Sending out of remittances / statements
* Prepare and process payment runs
* Supplier query resolution
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Posting of receipts and completion of client account reconciliations
* Monthly reconciliation of fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and payroll journals
* Prepare and update reports / general ledger on accounts payable / receivables and outstanding invoices for management review
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers / customers
* Monitoring of email inbox
* Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts receivable, accounts payable and supplier expenses
* Monitoring of cash balances and produce cashflow report with senior accountant
* Assist in audits
Skills and experience required:
* 3 years previous experience of working within a finance / accounting role in industry of a similar level
* Studying AAT / ACCA or QBE
* Experience of working on QuickBooks software is desirable with good Excel experience (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
* Initiative-taking – happy to work with minimal supervision
* Numerate with a good eye for detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when needed
* Detailed understanding of double entry bookkeeping / accounting principles
