Purpose Statement/Main Role
Ridgeline is an established brand producing products for working professionals in the field sports, agriculture, and outdoor sectors. The Ridgeline brand is sold in the UK, various European countries, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
A small team run the global brand from the UK and an exciting opportunity has emerged for an assistant to work with the team as the business expands.
As a Product Assistant, you will be responsible for working on all types of products for Ridgeline Clothing, supporting the brand team. The brand team areas consist of Merchandising, Marketing, Designing, and Product Development. This position offers an excellent insight into all these areas within the textiles industry. A knowledge of the textile industry would be beneficial. Your role will be split across Merchandising, Product Development, and Sales Events team, which means that workload for each day will be varied.
Principle Accountabilities/Responsibilities/Scope
General Overview
1. Working on the development of product across outdoor wet weather gear, fleeces, t-shirts, waterproof trousers, and accessories.
2. Day to Day Liaison with manufacturers across the whole supply chain, ensuring that all development trackers are up to date with the relevant information.
3. You will be proactive and self-manage your part of the critical path.
4. You will manage quality assurance in conjunction with production teams and identify any manufacturing and performance risks and escalate these.
Merchandising
1. Creating range plans for each season.
2. Raising orders with suppliers for Salesman Samples and bulk production.
3. Liaising with suppliers to gather pricing.
Product Development
1. Responsible for the colour approval process from requesting lab dips through to filing approvals.
2. Sample tracker administration which includes setting up seasonal trackers for each supplier and ensuring that all information is up to date with relevant information.
3. Carry out market research and competitive shopping.
4. Collating product feedback from global partners as well as wearer trials.
5. Support the marketing team with brand guidelines for product development and design.
6. Responsible for arranging proto and fit samples.
7. Preparing samples for fit sessions which will include measuring.
8. Chase suppliers for proto samples/ fit samples and pre-production samples.
Sales/Events team
1. Support the sales and events team to prepare for upcoming trade and consumer shows.
2. Attend consumer shows and support the sales team with event set up.
3. Organise and manage any new product for events as required.
NB These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as and when the business demands.
Key Additional Knowledge/Skills
1. Key understanding of the product development timeline and calendar.
2. Experience working within the outdoor apparel industry.
3. Meticulous attention to detail.
4. Organised and efficient, excellent planning and time management skills.
5. Ability to communicate well in both written and verbal forms.
6. Ability to work autonomously or equally within a team and be a strong team player.
Minimum Requirements
1. Good communicator.
2. Well organised.
3. Competent PC skills.
4. Ability to work both as part of a team and under own initiative.
5. Full driving license and use of own car, due to rural location.
