Job Overview
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated Safeguarding Adults Manager who is interested in joining our well-established and highly regarded Safeguarding Adults team.
As part of our team, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding activities, including managing complex abuse cases and working within our established adult Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub. You will provide essential safeguarding advice to professionals both inside and outside Newcastle City Council, and chair Safeguarding Adults Strategy and Protection Plan meetings. Excellent communication skills are a must for this role.
Responsibilities
We are looking for a progressed social worker with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying experience, who can manage a complex and variable workload in a dynamic environment. A commitment to ensuring that Adults at Risk are at the heart of the safeguarding process is essential. You will join a team of creative thinkers who lead by example, utilising your social work skills, knowledge, and experience, while upholding strong values and fostering professional curiosity.
Essential Knowledge and Skills for the Role
1. In-depth knowledge of Safeguarding Adults policy and procedures: A thorough understanding of the policies and procedures that govern safeguarding adults is crucial.
2. Experience in risk assessment and risk management: Proven experience in assessing and managing risks effectively.
3. Familiarity with processes such as MAPPA, MARAC, and PREVENT: Knowledge of these critical processes is essential for the role.
4. Ability to chair multi-agency Safeguarding Adults meetings: Strong leadership skills to effectively chair meetings involving multiple agencies.
5. Understanding of safeguarding across the life course: Including the transition from childhood to adulthood.
