CNC 5 Axis Programmer / Setter

Location: Southam, Warwickshire
Working Hours: Monday to Friday - Days - 36.5 hours
Type: Permanent
Purpose:
To contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the business by ensuring that goods are produced to engineering drawings on time, complying with quality procedures and the company standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Produce programmes in CAD CAM software that can be manufactured on 5 Axis CNC Machines and produce component parts to the required standards.
2. Provide guidance and delegate tasks to a CNC Operator(s) and monitor their daily performance.
3. Programming using CAD CAM (SolidCAM).
4. Programming of HAAS 5 Axis.
5. Managing day-to-day production activities, paying strict attention to production schedule and ensuring deadlines are met.
6. Producing components efficiently to the required standards, right first time.
7. Identifying and recommending manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
8. Develop and provide support to CNC operator(s).
9. Ensuring aspects of machine shop such as tooling, work holding and planning are continually developed.
10. Stock control and material ordering.
11. Working with internal departments on production planning to ensure machined components fall within assembly production requirements.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in a similar role/similar industry.
2. CAD CAM experience. Preferably SolidCAM, however other experience will be considered.
3. Comprehensive experience with 5 Axis machining.
4. Quoting machining time and component costing.
5. Experience with machining various materials such as Aluminium, Mild steel, and Stainless steel.
6. Experience using cavity and custom form tools.

4. Holiday: 31 days (inclusive of bank holidays). After 2 years' service, 2 additional days + further day of holiday entitlement is awarded for each 5 years of service up to a total of 36 days.
5. Sick pay (after probation completed): Full pay for the first 12 weeks, then 50% of pay for a further 12 weeks per year.
