Litigation Solicitor - Welsh Local Authority\n\nLocation: South Wales\n Contract Type: 3 months with view to extend\nRate: Negotiable DOE\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProvide legal advice on litigation, regulatory prosecutions, governance, and public law.\n\nRepresent the Council in court, tribunals, hearings, and inquiries.\n\nConduct civil and criminal litigation, ensuring high-quality case preparation and advocacy.\n\nSupport judicial review proceedings and regulatory compliance matters.\n\nAdvise on education law, including school admission appeals and policy interpretation.\n\nAssist in the development and implementation of Council policies and governance structures.\n\nWork collaboratively with senior legal officers and council stakeholders to deliver effective legal services.\n\nAbout You\n\nQualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate.\n\nExperience in criminal litigation and prosecutions, preferably in a local authority setting.\n\nKnowledge of public law and local government procedures.\n\nStrong advocacy and litigation skills with the ability to manage a diverse caseload.\n\nExcellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills.\n\nAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.\n\n📩 Apply today
