Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity for a Governance Lawyer at a reputable Local Authority based in Yorkshire. This a locum position, offering remote working and working hours.
The successful interim Governance Lawyer will support on a range of governance matters across the Council, including but not limited to:
* * Advising on the legal requirements and limitations of a committee system of governance (including area committees)
* Advising on the legal requirements of the Council's constitution and contributing to a review of the constitution
* Contributing to/advising on/reviewing/drafting policy documents and protocols connected with the operation of the constitution and the committee system
* Advising on the scheme of delegations within the constitution and the requirements for reports to decision-makers
* Advising on local government constitutional and administrative law
* Attending meetings as required
The successful Governance Lawyer will have previous local authority experience of constitution and governance matters.
