Summary: As a trainee buyer for Doocey Group you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing team and assist with sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of products and materials required by the organisation. This role involves helping to maintain strong relationships with vendors and taking responsibility for administrative requirements within the department. The Trainee Buyer will work closely with existing members of the procurement team, with the view of progressing within the department. Specific Responsibilities/Tasks: Daily Support and resolve queries via telephone and email received via the procurement telephone line, providing excellent customer service both internally and externally. Support the Commercial team by obtaining quotations and lead times to assist with tenders. Enter delivery notes onto internal systems (E.g. Acumen) and ensure order books are kept up to date and accurate. Assist with the checking and signing off of purchase invoice batches to ensure they are returned to the Accounts department in a timely manner, and within the Procurement SLA’s. Deal with and resolve any purchase order and invoice queries via both email and telephone in a professional manner at all times. Ensure timely maintenance of the Procurement and own email inbox, to ensure all are dealt with within the Procurement SLA’s. Weekly Input documentation accurately onto internal systems which has been returned from work sites, including delivery tickets and fuel receipts, and is completed within the procurement SLA’s. Assisting with the preparation of Reports to be distributed to all Directors, Senior Management, Commercial Team, and Costings Team. Monthly Support in preparing month end meetings by collating any information required and requested by the Procurement Manager or wider teams within the Group. Adhoc Assist with pricing tenders for new works for Quantity Surveyors, as and when requested. Covering for other procurement team members in their absence, as and when required. Support with annual events for the Company, as and when required. Maintain a key role within the implementation of new systems and processes, when required.
