We have a predominantly home-based Digital Marketing Manager position available for a candidate living within the south of the UK. There will be approximately one to two days per month needed for meetings in London, so it's strongly preferred that candidates are located close enough for this not to be too inconvenient when required.
We are seeking a results-driven and highly organised strategic Digital Marketing Manager to manage and optimise the performance of our clients' external digital marketing agency. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that their agency delivers the highest value for their marketing budget across key channels, including Paid Search (PPC), Paid Social, SEO, and CRO. Please note there is no focus on CRM directly.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of digital marketing tactics and strategy, a keen eye for performance metrics, and the ability to effectively manage and hold agencies accountable for meeting goals and KPIs. Ideally, you will have managed budgets in excess of £750,000 across all the channels specified and have extensive proven experience driving performance-based digital marketing change across an organisation in ecommerce, travel, or financial services. Please note this role is not managing a team, and there would be no plans to consider hiring for the first 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be the lead on driving performance-focused strategic digital change across search, content, and paid.
* Act as the primary point of contact for external digital marketing agencies, overseeing the execution of Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO, and CRO campaigns.
* Set clear objectives and expectations with the agencies, ensuring alignment with business goals and overall marketing strategy.
* Hold the agency accountable for results, pushing for continuous improvement in campaign performance and ROI.
* Conduct in-depth analysis of key metrics (e.g., CPC, CPA, CTR, ROAS) to ensure campaigns are on track and optimising for maximum efficiency.
* Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership, making data-driven recommendations to improve performance.
* Manage digital marketing budgets and ensure efficient allocation across channels.
* Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, sales, product) to ensure alignment of digital marketing strategies with broader business goals.
* Continuously evaluate new opportunities and trends in digital marketing to inform future campaigns.
Qualifications/Experience:
* Evidenced strategic digital marketing experience, where you have driven change across either a division of a brand in ecommerce, travel, or financial services, or at an SME with a budget of £750,000+
* Commercial marketing experience where your role has been to drive a large amount of low-value (£10 - £1000) sales daily, ideally but not essentially from financial, ecommerce, or travel sectors.
* Proven experience (3+ years) in digital marketing, with a focus on managing paid search (PPC), paid social, and SEO campaigns.
* Strong experience in agency management or working within an agency, including holding teams accountable for performance and ROI.
* Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and performance optimisation.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* A degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
