It is a varied an interesting role incorporating both basic and more complex adminstrative tasks; organising, attending, taking and sharing minutes and action plans, supporting the matron, ward leaders and midwifery sisters in completing administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth running of the managerial and administrative aspects of the unit.
The role is available due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. there may be an opportunity for the time frame to be extended.
• Supporting the team with reviewing the Off Duty and weekly co-ordination.
• Co-ordination of appraisals
• Carrying out appraisals
• Arranging and coordinating meetings; taking and sharing minutes and actions plans
• Manage the diaries of the Senior Midwife and Senior Clinical team.
• Providing administrative support with Trust initiatives and requirements; such as infection prevention, VTE, Pathway to Excellence amongst others.
• Responsible for the management of electronic diaries in liaison with departmental colleagues and other hospital departments as required.
• Responding to telephone calls and enquiries
• To produce a high standard of work at all times, in particular when working under pressure, in order to meet deadlines.
• Supporting sub group meetings and audits for National and local requirements. Maintenance of local databases and audit to support the responses to the CQC outcomes and provider compliance assessments
• Maintain confidentiality of both staff and patients at all times.

Job Summary
To support the Senior Midwife, Ward Managers and Band 7 Co-ordinators allowing them to support the service delivery in a clinical capacity and to achieve strict deadlines for service and staff development.
Staff
Maintain effective communication with the Registered Midwife/Health Care Professional regarding issues relating to their assigned duties, promptly reporting areas of concern.
Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team in the maternity unit. Reporting to shift leader/ward manager.
Demonstrate skills and activities to others in similar roles and make a contribution as a team member to the training and support of learners.
