We are currently working on a fantastic opportunity to work for a PE backed manufacturing business based in Oldham in the appointment of a management accountant. This role is 5 days in office.
This business has seen year on year growth and is looking to employ part qualified ACCA or CIMA qualified or QBE management accountant, the role offers excellent career opportunities and progression.The successful candidate will report to the Group Finance Director and will have the responsibility for the day-to-day management accounting responsibilities and producing management accounts for the UK business and supporting where necessary, the companies USA accounts.
One of the key aspects of this role will be to 'hands on' deliver the production of the monthly accounts offering insightful commentary and analysis to showcase potential issues and improvements.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, preparing and delivering the month end accounts, P&L, Cashflow, Balance sheet, developing and delivering functional leadership team requirements and business KPI's
2. Supporting the annual budgeting and forecasting process
3. Preparation of the group sales report
4. Preparation of the Accruals and Prepayments of Subsidiaries
5. Preparation of the VAT return for review
6. Population of monthly Management Information Packs in excel
7. Balance Sheet Reconciliation and resolution
8. Posting of Employment cost journals
9. Daily, weekly, period Banking
10. Payroll supervision and responsibility for on time, accurate completion, checking and BACS commitment along with HMRC filing requirements
11. Ownership of Standard cost model and use to derive monthly cost of sales
12. Annual stocktake management and coordination with the UK operations team
13. Providing support in a variety of financial projects
14. Assist the Group Finance Director and FP&A with audit queries during year end processes
15. Foster and develop excellent working relationships with other members of the finance team and wider commercial and operational functions of the business
16. Assist in day-to-day financial activity for the wider group including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
17. Preparation of year end statutory accounts audit packs
18. Ensuring all recharges to other group companies are made and daily bank management.
19. Ensuring all transactions are managed for each business - small volume of invoicing.
20. Updating debtors list to ensure cash is collected effectively
21. Monthly consolidations and balance sheet reconciliations
You:
22. Manufacturing industry experience
23. Hands on
24. Attention to detail.
25. Ability to self-manage workload.
26. Flexibility to prioritise to meet deadlines.
27. Confident in dealing with people at all levels, and the ability to build strong relationships.
28. Experience with Sage 300
29. Experience in MS Dynamics (Desirable)
