I have learning disabilities and epilepsy which affect my daily living, but my parents and my supporting staff encourage me to be as independent as possible and to live a fulfilling life. Im happy when Im feeling well; when Im around people and I do activities I love. I have various interests such as music, singing, dancing, trains, baking, and much more. I enjoy going out for meals and spending time with my family and staff. Ive got a cracking sense of humour which I like to share with people. My mum manages my care package and is a great source of support to all staff that work with me. I have 2:1 support, due to my health needs, which means support from another person is always available. About you and your role Im looking to build a team of support workers who would work together to ensure I can continue to lead a fulfilling life at home and visit places I enjoy. The ideal candidate would be a person with previous experience in care and supporting people with learning disabilities, epilepsy, and complex health conditions. I like people who are bubbly, energetic and with a good sense of humour. You will be guided by my parents to support me in a person-centered way. The ideal candidate would be: Energetic and ready to try various activities. A Person with genuine caring nature. Passionate about delivering person centred care and support. A Person with ability to support me with my complex healthcare needs and epilepsy. Excellent communicator with good sense of humour. Able to promote my independence. A Person with excellent administration and recording skills due to the complexity of paperwork involved. Happy to be trained in all aspect of my needs including administration of Buccal Midazolam and Hydrocortisone injections. I also have a VNS (Vagus Nerve stimulator) A team player. Essential full UK driving license. Hours and Pay rates: Bank hours available. This would be to cover staff holidays and sickness. Driving the client's vehicle is a requirement of the role, therefore applicants will need to be eligible to be added to the insurance policy. The rate of pay will be £14 per hour. Training fully paid and double pay for bank holidays. 5.6 weeks holiday is awarded per year as standard (pro rata for part time positions).
