We are looking for an inspiring Teacher of Design & Technology to join our department. You will be expected to carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require and in accordance with the College’s policies under the direction of the Headmaster. We teach Design and Technology across a full range of specialisms at KS3, Design and Technology timbers at KS4, and GCSE Art and Design: Textiles.
The department also has an established Product Design A level course and due to demand, will be introducing A level Art & Design Textiles in September. You will teach a full range of pupils from 1st form to 6th form.
Teaching at LWC requires that members of the academic staff be willing to contribute fully to the life of the College. This includes tutoring, co-curricular involvement, boarding house duties, cover duties, and attending parents’ evenings for the year groups taught. Liaison with parents is included in the sphere of the teacher’s responsibilities.
In the Design and Technology department, there are 4 full-time members of staff and 1 technician. We have 2 fully equipped workshops, a textiles workshop, and a design classroom all with Smartboards. All workshops are equipped with various essential machinery along with laser cutters and 3D printers where our students use SketchUp, TinkerCAD, TechSoft design, and Fusion.
