Contracts Manager\nJob Descriptions\nAs a contracts manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing projects and ensuring\nthat any issues which arise are resolved as quickly and effectively as possible.\nKey Attributes\n• An understanding of the construction industry\n• An understanding of legal documentation\n• Maths and IT knowledge\n• Strong leadership skills\n• Business management skills\n• The ability to use your initiative\n• Good verbal communication skills.\nThe duties of a contracts manager include:\n• Supporting the preparation of tenders for clients and commercial bids to help\nbring in new business\n• Developing and presenting project proposals\n• Meeting with clients to find out their requirements\n• Producing plans and estimating budgets and timescales\n• Discussing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of business\ncontracts\n• Agreeing budgets and timescales with the clients\n• Managing construction schedules and budgets\n• Dealing with any unexpected costs\n• Attending site meetings to monitor progress\n• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, site and project managers\n• Working with third parties to ensure that everyone understands their roles\nand responsibilities\n• Making sure construction projects meet agreed technical standards\n• Liaising with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, legal teams and\nthe client’s own representatives\n• Overseeing invoicing at the end of a project\n• Working on-site and in an office.\n• Studying the requirements, duties and obligations of the company under\ncontracts to ensure alignment with the company’s goals and industry\nregulations.\n• Supervising contract execution to ensure compliance with regulatory\nguidelines.\n•\n• Researching business partners and their history prior to writing or signing\ncontracts.\n• Monitoring the implementation and performance of signed contracts.\n• Training, supervising and managing the contract team.\n• Maintaining, updating and improving contractual records.\n• Support Head of Operations as required\nValues driven:\nActive is a ‘values’ driven business and any successful candidate will be expected to\nalways demonstrate Actives values.
