The successful applicant will be part of a team of 3 Breast surgeons in delivering high quality service in symptomatic and screening Breast disease to the catchment area. This vacancy arises as part of an expansion of breast cancer and reconstructive surgery and creates an opportunity to enhance and develop our services for the community. Person Specification Qualifications Essential • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice (or eligibility to obtain) • FRCS or equivalent • CCT in General Surgery and on GMCs Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from the date of the interview or have confirmed eligibility for Specialist Registration within 6 months. Desirable • Higher degree MD/PhD/MBA Clinical Experience Essential • Training and experience in Breast Surgery including Oncoplastic Surgery • Experience in Cancer Management Desirable • Oncoplastic Fellowship • Research undertaken in relevant field Management Skills Essential • Attended management training course Desirable • Knowledge of finance / budgets Experience in Training, Audit and Research Essential • Demonstrable commitment and ability to teach and train undergraduates, junior doctors and allied healthcare professionals. • Experience of clinical audit • Relevant research articles in peer-reviewed journals Desirable • Completed Train the Trainers course or equivalent Personal Qualities Essential • Evidence of working effectively in a Multidisciplinary Team • Ability to motivate staff, to facilitate appropriate changes in clinical practice and to work as part of a team • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enthusiasm and approachability • Commitment to continuing professional development and clinical governance
