Are you ready for an exciting opportunity to make a real difference? We are looking for a dedicated Asbestos Surveyor to join our team.
This is a mobile role, that requires travel across the Midlands, South East and South West regions. These regions include: Leicestershire, South Birmingham, Bristol, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, North London, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.
We are offering a competitive salary of £39,500 plus Car Allowance. You will need a driving license for this role and the ability to travel.
About the Role:
As a Regional Asbestos Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe occupation of NHS properties. Your responsibilities will include:
* Conducting Asbestos Reinspection Checks: Ensure the safety of our properties by performing regular asbestos reinspection checks in line with our demand pipeline and Service Level Agreements.
* Conducting Asbestos R&D Surveys: Perform thorough asbestos Refurbishment and Demolition (R&D) surveys for both planned and reactive projects across our estate.
* Collaborating with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with Project Managers, Consultants, Building and M&E Contractors, Health and Safety colleagues, and other delivery teams to provide reliable asbestos guidance and recommendations.
* Preparing Detailed Reports: Document the location, type, and condition of any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) found, and provide comprehensive reports.
* Collecting Samples: Collect samples of suspected ACMs and send them to a laboratory for analysis.
* Conducting Inspections: Perform targeted inspections of buildings and structures to identify the presence of asbestos-containing materials.
* Producing Asbestos Building Risk Profiles (ABRP): Follow production and quality assurance procedures to create detailed risk profiles.
* Implementing Workflow Processes: Manage document administration and delivery processes efficiently.
* Supporting Asbestos Remedial Works: Provide guidance and support for the completion of asbestos remedial works, liaising with all parties and developing scopes of work in conjunction with the National Asbestos Lead (NAL) Regional Asbestos Manager (RAM)
* Ensuring Quality Assurance: Adhere to internal quality assurance procedures in both on-site and off-site aspects of the role.
* Staying Updated: Keep up to date with changes in legislation and industry best practices related to asbestos.
* Promoting Health and Safety: Complete all aspects of the role with the Organisation’s Health and Safety Vision and Culture at the forefront of your actions.
* Representing the Asbestos and Hard FM Team in a professional capacity.
* Liaising with Customers, Colleagues and contractors to assure accuracy and confidence in the NHS PS Asbestos Management Approach.
* Uphold and contribute to the team charter attending meetings, contributing to planning and organising associated with the charter.
What you will bring to the role:
* Relevant Qualifications: BOHSP402 certification or RSPH Level 3 Award in asbestos surveying.
* Practical Experience: Experience with asbestos demolition on pre-2000 constructed properties.
* Good communication skills and rapport building skills.
* Highly organised.
