Here at Dwr Cymru Welsh Water we have some exciting opportunities in our Developer Services Planning team across all different levels.
Developer Services support customer/developers in development stages and beyond to achieve their proposals/investments and protect our assets in every way possible; be it protecting them physically, protecting the hydraulic capacity, and assisting where we can in future development. Developer Services cover water connections, sewerage connections, Household build over sewers, asset protection, planning (consultee for when planning is sought by local authority, DCWW are a statutory consultee).
We have the following positions available:
1. Head of Development Planning – Circa. £70,000 + our other fantastic benefits
2. Planning Liaison Manager - £50,958 - £59,877 + our other fantastic benefits
3. Lead Development Control Officer - £41,300 - £47,213 + our other fantastic benefits
4. Development Planning Officer - £33,365 - £39,403 + our other fantastic benefits
As Head of Development Planning, you will lead and direct all activity regarding planning and associated services within Developer Services, such as forward planning and strategy to influence growth and land allocations to ensure DCC’s AMP is the most effective and efficient as it possible can be.
As the Planning Liaison Manager, you will be responsible for leading and directing all activity regarding development management and associated services within the planning function. This includes overseeing the completion of planning applications, SAB consultations, pre-planning enquiries, and new sewer connections within statutory timeframes and in compliance with D-Mex requirements.
As a Lead Development Control Officer, you will be responsible for leading Development Control activity within Developer Services, making sure pre-planning enquiries, planning applications, development briefs, EIA vetting/input, planning conditions, planning appeals and S106 planning agreements are answered and delivered within statutory deadlines/KPI’s.
As a Development Planning Officer within our Developer Services team, you will be responsible for managing activity relating to planning matters in one region of our operational area, such as responding to planning applications, pre-planning enquiries and new sewer connections in line with statutory deadlines.
What we are looking for:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent in Planning
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience of Town and Country Planning process, water, local authority industry or environmental role is desirable
* Strong leadership and communication skills are required to motivate, performance manage, develop and lead a team
* Experience of stakeholder management
* Ability to work to tight regulatory and project deadlines
Good to know:
These are hybrid roles and you will be required to visit the office around 2 days a week or more depending on the business needs/requirements.
