Next Generation are pleased to have been appointed to recruit for an Assistant Buyer to work with a well-established engineering company based near Cradley Heath. The Assistant Buyer will be responsible for providing administrative and commercial support to the procurement department. Working hours for the Assistant Buyer: Monday Friday 8am 4.30pm Whats on offer for the Assistant Buyer: Competitive salary up to £28,000 p.a. (DOE) Duties of the Assistant Buyer: Issue enquiries and raise purchase orders as required. Commodities covered will be MRO, industrial supplies, soft facilities services and subcontract machining Issue and expedite orders to ensure services and supplies arrive in a timely manner Liaise with other departments to ensure requirements are understood and communicated Manage the goods receipt process and liaise with suppliers and accounts team to resolve invoice queries. Update and publish metrics (order value, savings, maintenance budget, outstanding balance etc.) Process new supplier application forms The successful candidate for the Assistant Buyers position will have the following experience: 3 years experience as an Assistant Buyer within a manufacturing/engineering environment (Essential) Working with ERP/MRP systems (Essential) Managing supplier relations (Essential) Well versed with Microsoft Office packages (Essential) Due to the high number of applications we receive, we are sometimes not able to respond directly to each candidate.
