Job summary An opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Otolaryngology / Head & Neck Surgery at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. The service provides adult and Paediatric outpatient and inpatient ENT activity at the major teaching hospital in Bristol, but also provides outreach clinics and inpatient support and advice across a range of other sites. The Trust is the regional centre for Otolaryngology, major head and neck surgery, skull base surgery, major ear surgery and hearing implantation Main duties of the job The appointee will join the ENT department which consists of 11 consultants, 7 specialty registrars, 3 specialty doctors, 5 GP trainees and 4 clinical fellows. The department provides local and regional ENT services for adults and children. This includes specialist paediatric, otological implant and head and neck services. Responsibilities include admission and care of adult and paediatric emergency and elective ENT patients. The appointee will also contribute to the provision of ENT Hot Clinics. The appointee will participate in the on call rota alongside GP trainees and Clinical Fellows. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical audit, research, teaching and service improvement projects. These posts would suit doctors who have a career interest in ENT at grade ST1-2.
