The role:
We are currently recruiting for an outstanding Grocery NAM to join our team! In this role you’ll be responsible for managing all key retail accounts across the UK, driving sales, and building strong relationships. Additionally, the candidate will play a pivotal role in acquiring new accounts and distribution across the sector. Current accounts include Tesco, Sainsburys, Ocado & Waitrose.
We are happy to consider flexible working for this role, with office visits expected at least once a week. For the right candidate, a part-time role will also be considered (min 3 days per week).
Key responsibilities include:
* Assume full responsibility of the customers P&L, regularly monitoring performance vs budgeted objectives, identifying risk, and taking corrective actions where necessary.
* Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with key accounts to create a foundation for long-term partnerships and business growth.
* Create innovative sales and marketing plans customised for each account to achieve targeted sales and profit goals.
* Utilise data insights to optimise category role and to build effective merchandising and activation strategies.
* Responsible for launching and activating NPD in key accounts with help of Marketing Team.
* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business growth and development.
* Prepare and present regular sales reports, including sales performance, market analysis, and account updates to Head of Sales.
* Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with key accounts, ensuring profitability and sustainable business partnerships.
* Develop accurate sales forecasts and regularly report on performance against targets.
* Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, supply chain and customer service.
The ideal candidate:
* Minimum 4 years grocery National Account Management experience.
* Experience in interpreting and utilizing data to create effective account strategies.
* Strong track record of consistently achieving sales targets by cultivating new business opportunities while growing existing ones.
* Effective negotiation skills and an understanding of commercials.
* Astute with numbers and strong excel skills.
* You will be a proven National Account Manager with a strong background of success selling branded food & drink products into the major UK Grocers
* Naturally be able to hit the ground running, thrive with responsibility, independence, acting at pace but also getting stuck in!
* Private / own label experience beneficial.
