What does the role look like?
Our Technology & Digital Development team is responsible for the Technology and digitalisation strategy in Danske Bank UK. This includes maximising delivery from existing technology solutions and working with internal and external networks to secure investment into new and emerging technologies.
As Head of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for leading the engineering team and overseeing the overall engineering operation within Danske Bank UK. This includes managing software development processes, engineers, and architects, ensuring that technical projects align with the Bank's strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
* Advanced programming knowledge (e.g., Java, .Net, React)
* Experience working with Domain Driven Design Principles and API Management Solutions
* Understanding of software architecture, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps, Agile methodologies, and database management.
* Experience in software development and engineering, including several years in a leadership or managerial role.
* Experience in strategic planning, project management, and fostering a collaborative environment.
* Ability to align technical initiatives with business goals and drive the company’s technical vision.
* Encouraging innovation and staying abreast of industry trends and technologies.
* Focus on compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.
* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
* Understanding of cybersecurity.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certifications related to software development or project management (e.g., PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Experience developing on digital platforms (e.g., Backbase, Pega).
