Due to the rapid expansion of our business, we are looking to recruit a purchasing professional. The role will involve supporting the project management team and others within the business with resilient, value for money, and efficient purchasing practices.
Activities include:
1. Agreeing favourable credit terms and discounting with suppliers.
2. Raising purchase orders and maintaining our ordering platform.
3. Integrating with project planning resources and providing updates on long lead time items and potential issues.
4. Identifying plant or equipment shortages and suggesting alternatives.
5. Assisting in the vesting of materials and prompt payment activities to preserve cash flow.
6. Working with Goods in and Goods out to ensure purchases are correct and collaborating with suppliers to remediate mistakes and misquantities.
7. Assisting in providing technical information, datasheets, and obtaining quotes for accurate job pricing.
8. Assisting in trending material prices to identify risks in tendering opportunities.
9. Able to demonstrate a risk assessment appropriate to procurement to ensure resilience and best value.
10. Performing other general administrative tasks required to support the team.
Desirable Attributes, Skills & Experience:
1. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly in using databases and spreadsheets.
2. Working knowledge of procurement law.
3. Good working understanding of mechanical and electrical parts and components.
4. CIPS Procurement Certificate would be desirable.
5. Well organized and dependable.
6. Able to work independently and be a team player.
7. Good communication skills, both verbal and written (English Language).
