Role:
To enable the HSQEP & wider teams to realise their strategic plans by engaging, supporting, and facilitating activities aligned to the CGU Strategic Vision, including but not limited to compliance objectives, training and development, onboarding, and proactive and reactive safety measures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide the highest levels of service to our internal customers.
2. Coordinate the CGU H&S Risk Register, helping deliver the benefits of a streamlined approach to the amount of risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work.
3. Facilitate updates, reminders, and support on initiatives in line with the HSE Strategic delivery plan and HSE brand standards.
4. Collate and analyze key HSE KPIs to be presented at all levels of the organisation.
5. Be part of the internal auditing team to support continual improvement standards.
6. Deliver quality assurance support within the risk assessment and SSoW review process.
7. Support departmental safety meetings.
8. Coordinate the HSE compliance matrix and undertake legislative compliance checks.
9. Ensure the provision of PPE, such as ear plugs, is available.
10. Manage the availability of first aid equipment.
11. Facilitate training documentation, administering it onto the system.
12. Support mandatory training programmes.
13. Identify opportunities for improvement in HSE performance, including operational and supply chain projects.
14. Coordinate the HSE Continual Improvement Plan.
15. Play a key role in the delivery of improvement plans.
16. Champion social sustainability.
17. Help coordinate and deliver HSE consultation, including supporting the delivery of the HSE Strategy.
Person:
1. GCSEs in Math & English at Grade C or Equivalent.
2. NVQ level 3 in Occupational H&S would be desirable but not essential.
3. IOSH Managing Safety is essential for the role.
4. Previous experience working in Health, Safety & Environmental topics would be desirable.
5. Previous experience conducting risk assessments & metrics is essential for the role.
