Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Principal Psychologist to join our private clients at one of their sites which is a mixture of medium secure and low secure units, rehabilitation apartments, and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) services. At this specific site there is a powerful emphasis on teamwork along with CPD, at this private hospital you will have access to a variety of training opportunities to advance your career.
In this role, you will report to the Lead Psychologist and assist in implementing both strategic and clinical approaches to enhance and expand the care pathway. This will involve providing expert psychological advice and consultations to support the development and growth of services.
You'll be required to have experience in managing a designated caseload, which includes assessing individuals with complex needs and creating and providing specialised psychological treatment within secure/PICU services.
You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored assessment and treatment plans for both male and female service users with mental health issues, complex care needs, and personality disorders. These individuals may have a history of offending or have experienced difficulties in previous placements.
What you'll do:
1. Act as a Lead Psychologist in their absence.
2. Play a central role in the development of services.
3. Supervise specific team members.
4. Offer strong clinical supervision, support during appraisals, and guidance for the professional development of the team.
5. Engage in CPD.
6. Support audits and research tasks as directed by the line manager.
What we're looking for:
1. HCPC Registered.
2. Advanced knowledge and application of research methodology, research design, and complex multivariate data analysis at a post-doctoral level.
3. Qualified to attain Chartered Membership of the BPS.
4. Doctorate accredited by the BPS and approved by the HCPC.
