Co-op Funeral Directors is part of the Chelmsford Star Co-op family. As a long-established firm of Funeral Arrangers in Essex, with a heritage dating back to 1936, we are proud to serve our local communities and have been supporting families throughout generations.
We care passionately about the customer service we offer, from the moment of first contact until after the funeral service, providing bereavement support groups for those who would like additional support. Our team has won numerous local business awards for demonstrating how we go above and beyond in supporting our customers.
We are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors and carry ‘Fair Funeral’ and ‘Good Funeral Guide’ accreditation. In 2021, we won ‘Best for Customer Focus’ in the local Business Awards, and in 2022, we were named ‘Best Funeral Providers in Essex’ at the Business Excellence Awards. We work proudly with specialist insurers Ecclesiastical to provide secure pre-paid funeral plans to give peace of mind.
