Sofas & Stuff Ltd in Preston are recruiting for an Apprentice Sewing Machinist. The successful candidate will work towards completing a Level 2 Sewing Machinist apprenticeship over the duration of 18 months.
Job description:
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a sewing machinist apprentice. In this role, you will work alongside experienced craftsman and technicians to learn all details of traditional and modern sewing techniques. Your responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with cutting and sewing fabrics for upholstered furniture pieces,
• learning how to operate and maintain sewing equipment.
• Learn the skills and techniques involved in the assembly of furniture, including piping, making zips, borders and top sewing.
• Understanding quality control procedures and ensuring products meet company standards.
Requirements:
• Strong attention to detail required with manual dexterity.
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
• Have a passion and commitment to learn all aspects of Sewing to support the development of skills.
Hours of work:
Between the hours of 6:45am - 4:45pm, Monday - Friday, breaks am/pm (Paid) and 30 min lunch (Unpaid) 36-40 hour a week (dependant on age)
