Priority Candidates will be considered in the first instance Care Leavers Hub Salary: Grade 5, 12,996 - 14,312 per annum. 13.47 - 14.84 per hour 18.5 hours per week Your role: To work as part of a team to plan, review and provide support to young people aged 16-25, Ensuring that children and young people in Wigan and those living out of borough receive the help and support that they require in order to be provided with optimal life opportunities, whilst facilitating safety and stability for young people and helping them achieve independence at their own pace. You will support young people /adults both preparing to leave care and supporting into adulthood having left care. You will work directly with young people, offering a range of support that includes advice around benefits, support around their tenancies, support with health needs, gaining access to training or employment, family support and also ensuring that social isolation is reduced. You will work with partners, for example, in Housing, Health and education training and employment to provide a high-quality service to our Care Leavers and work to meet their needs holistically. About you: You will have an understanding of the challenges facing Care Leavers and how best to mitigate the adverse life experiences many have faced. You will be passionate about improving the outcomes for care leavers and be able to work in a challenging and fast paced environment. You must be confident in recorded information and be able to advocate on behalf of young people where necessary. Importantly you will want to work with young people and help them have a successful transition into adulthood. You will commit to your corporate parenting role to its full capacity and ensure that Care Leavers receive services/support as you would expect for your own child (ren).
