Information about London Academy
London Academy is an ambitious all-through Academy in North London, serving a multicultural and disadvantaged community. Last academic year we were in the top 60 schools nationally achieving a progress 8 score of 1.06.
The Opportunity
Following the continued growth of the Academy we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive person who possesses an ability to work constructively as part of a team. This pivotal role will contribute to maintaining high standards of behaviour across the school by supporting students to reflect on their behaviour and actions and integrate into the school community with improved behaviour. The successful candidate will co-ordinate the Academy’s internal exclusion facility as part of the Academy’s Behaviour for Learning Policy and promote restorative practices and contribute to the development of a positive school culture.
The successful candidate will also be required to co-ordinate and manage administration relating to internal exclusion including daily preparation of the internal exclusion room, monitoring attendance, allocation of seating plans and maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour of students when escorting them to and from the internal exclusion room. The candidate would also be responsible for ensuring that students complete high quality work in their subjects throughout the day.
Why work at London Academy?
* The opportunity to work with experienced and value driven colleagues that have a proven track record of raising attainment for a disadvantaged community.
* A wide range of professional development opportunities, for example, we were one of the first partner schools working with The Institute for Teaching on the Masters in Expert Teaching.
* Experience of working with Ambition School Leadership and supporting colleagues completing Teaching Leaders and Future Leaders.
* A commitment to engage with the latest educational research so it informs all aspects of the Academy, for example curriculum design and pedagogy.
* A focus on reducing workload by having centralised behaviour systems, centralised curriculum, a reasonable feedback policy and a two-week October half term.
