We are looking for a Deputy Manager for a 5-bedded children's home in the heart of the Worthing area.
The home is for children aged 8 to 18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
We are looking for someone who can support the home manager in the running of the home and developing a team in the delivery of high-quality care that puts children first, supporting the home manager to lead a culture of love-led care so that the children experience the benefits of positive loving relationships which are long-lasting and nurturing.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organisation and interpersonal skills and has the ability to cope with and remain calm in challenging and demanding situations.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has good knowledge of Ofsted and relevant legislation, including Quality Standards
* Has a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care, or equivalent. It is ideal that the candidate is working towards or has achieved their Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
* Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a children's home, or is currently in a deputy manager role within a children's home
* Has integrity and good character
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Assisting the registered manager in developing an adult team to ensure they have clear vision and goals
* Assisting the registered manager in the day-to-day running of the home
* To undertake the managerial role in the absence of the registered manager
* To provide care in line with Children's Homes Regulations including Quality Standards
* To develop and maintain key relationships with children, adults, families and professionals
* Report writing, auditing and monitoring
* Safeguarding
* To provide a child-centred approach that includes equality, rights, inclusion and listening to the children's wishes and feelings
* To assist in developing and maintaining a positive environment which nurtures and rewards good practice
* To provide adults with supervisions
* To provide on-call on a pro-rata basis

* A competitive salary of up to £33,196.08, enhanced by up to £4500 with sleep-in and on-call rates.
